Established in 1966, the North Brevard Historical Society is a non-profit.
The purpose of the society is "The collection, preservation, recording and display of historical artifacts, photographs and written records of an area to stretch from Port St. John to the Volusia County Line and from the Atlantic Ocean to the St. John's River."
The North Brevard Historical Museum was established in 1989. It is operated exclusively by volunteers and is funded through memberships, donations and fundraising events.
There is no charge for admission to the museum.
